In The Heat of The Day

I have been MIA the past month. Too lazy, I know. And the weird weather isn't helping, either. The past week, we had rainy and sunny days. Good thing the little girl didn't get sick! And just a few days ago, haze started to cloud the whole city state. It was really bad yesterday, my head hurt and my nose was stuffy. It smelled like burnt wood the whole day. I wish it smelled barbecue! Grrr.

Anyway, it's getting better today. I hope it rains. To cool the day, I made lemonade. Good thing I still had lemons in the pantry.

Simple syrup (2 parts sugar, 1 part water)
2 Cups Water
Juice of 4 lemons

1. Make the simple syrup by mixing the sugar and water and dissolve over low heat.
2. Juice the lemons and pour in a jug. Mix in the cooled simple syrup. Add water and adjust according to your liking.
3. Add ice.
4. For me, I didn't put ice. I placed the juice in the freezer for about two hours. When it was just icy enough (not hard ice), I used my immersion blender to mix it. Yum-o!

  1. Wow:) new idea how to prepare lemons:)
Have a nice day rsin ir shine:)

  2. Yan pala recipe ng simple syrup, I thought one is to one, nakikita ko lang naman sa mga shake kiosk. hehehe!

  3. This is certainly a relief to the humid weather. I think that there are many ways to cool down and what's great is that we are able to do it in our own kitchen :)

  4. Tin , nice tani if it smells like chicken inasal 'no ? :D Refreshing and delicious thirst-quencher , way better than soda for sure !

  5. I was looking for a bottle of pure lemonade syrup the other day sa S&R, upon reading your post, I realized why not use fresh ones instead? Thanks sis!

  6. Such a refreshing drink! Fresh and home made versions are always good! Perfect for hot humid days.
